Too many pressure on Man United striker, admits Mourinho

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho insists there is too much pressure on Marcus Rashford which is making him underperform.

Mou says the expectations about the England international have now soared to unreasonable levels. The Special One believes less pressure will help Rashford achieve big things. The 21-year-old has netted only one goal this season and just two since March as he is mostly used on the left wing.

“The pressure is probably too high. A little (less) pressure will help him to achieve what he can achieve. How many players at 21 had more game time at a big club, for a big country? Not many,” said Mourino.

“He’s having incredible opportunities to develop, which is what he’s doing. He is having fantastic conditions to develop since Mr. Van Gaal brought him to the team. Then I come and he played with me a lot,” he added.

United will be up against Bournemouth on Saturday as Mourinho is hoping to stretch unbeaten Premier League run to four games for the first time since April.
