Nigerian striker Akpoveta begins trials in SA

Nigeria’s Oke Akpoveta has been welcomed at Absa Premiership side Chippa United for trials.

The information was disclosed by the Chilli Boys’ new coach Clinton Larsen to Kick Off today.

“Yes, there is one striker who is with us at the moment from Nigeria, he is training seriously, his name is Oke, I don’t know the surname yet.

“But he just arrived a day ago, he had one training session with us. He was recently in Sweden, can’t get the name of the team. But he just arrived yesterday and he had one training session with us.

“I can’t judge [what kind of player he is] after one session, if he has played in Sweden he can’t be bad. So we will have a look. We don’t take a day to make a decision, we take ten days, usually a week or ten days,” Larsen added.
